JEEKHANE BHOOTER BHOY is a film based on a collection of ghost stories by eminent writers like Saradindu Bandopadhyay, Satyajit Ray and others.
In the Saradindu Bandopadhyay story, a genial ghost (Paran Bandopadhyay) haunts a writer (Saswata Chaterjee) who has taken refuge in a village for his new writing project. There is a romantic and treasure angle in the story.
In the Satyajit Ray story, a booklover (Abir Chaterjee) stumbles upon the diary of an Englishman who once lived in Kalimpong. Entries in the diary mentions a certain ‘Simon’ – someone close to the Englishman who had passed away and then re-appears. This is suffice to compel Abir to visit his friend in Kalimpong to find out the truth —
The film is directed by Sandip Ray.
