Wrote this about a year back when Dev Ananad passed away….

Din Dhal Jaaye, Haye Raat Na Jaaye
Tu To Na Aaye Teri Yaad Sataaye…

Aapke yaadon ke sahare hum aab jeyenge… You immortalized such haunting mood onscreen…such a contrast to what people would remember you for in the long run…the energy and the optimism that you radiated through your characters…film buffs would never forget gems such as Main Zindagi ka saath nibhata chala gaya… critics may rightly not liken your acting skills to that of a Dadamoni or Motilal (both of whom you idolized, or even Raj, Dilip or Bachchan saab), but even these brilliant actors lacked the charm and positivity that you possessed, and imbued your characters with…I saw your flick (Des Pardes) way back in the late seventies when I was in class VI or VII and had been longing to re-watch that film for a long time …I hardly remember any of your roles now besides Guide & Asli Naqli, and even doesn’t care much of your later directorial ventures, yet I feel that if ever there was any actor in Bollywood (besides Mr. Bachchan of course) who could make a film click without a script, it was you

May your soul rest in peace.
